The rosters for this year's NHL All-Star Game were released today and Winnipeg Jets rookie phenom Patrik Laine has made the list. Unfortunately Laine might not be able to participate in the festivities because he sustained a concussion a few nights ago in a collision with Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe. The Jets ultimately lost to the Sabres 4-3.
Laine was the second overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft and has 21 goals and 37 points in the 42 games he has played in so far this season. He is one of only 2 rookies named to this year's ASG roster (along with Auston Matthews), and the only representative for Winnipeg.
If Laine is not cleared to play for the ASG, The Winnipeg Sun reports that likely replacements could be center Mark Scheifele or left winger Nikolaj Ehlers.
