One of the main financial backers has withdrawn support for the National Football League's Oakland Raiders to relocate to Las Vegas. Billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson announced last night that he and his family were withdrawing their pledge to invest $650 million in the nearly $2 billion project that will include a new stadium for the Raiders. Adelson's announcement indicated he was withdrawing because he had been shut out of discussions about the project.
Different articles indicate that other investors may be in the queue to fill in the money Adelson would have provided.
NFL owners will vote on the move within the next few months and 24 of the 32 owners need to be on board to approve the move.
Let's see where the chips will fall!
